We were presented with the creative challenge to give character to this new build concrete-shell three bedroom house. The team used a ‘Scrape & Bag’ lime render to give it a soft, organic feel to help the building blend in with the surrounding area and traditional buildings. After lengthy preparations to remove all sharp corners and angles, we applied a generous three coat lime render to all concrete block work. Although this was a challenging project due to applying traditional products to a modern build, we are very proud of the finished article. The Architect who headhunted Woodlouse Conservation was more than pleased, and is now endeavouring to apply these traditional finishes to more modern builds in the future.
