Located in a Conservation Area, this property was suffering from rising and penetrating damp which required a number of applications to remedy the situation. These included a complete lime mortar re-point and the re-rendering of both gable ends. After a number of different mortar samples were considered, the front of the property was re-pointed with a gauged chardstock, lime putty and crushed charcoal mortar. The mortar blended effortlessly with the lias stone and has stabilised the masonry for years to come.
