Whilst re-rendering the outside of this Somerset cottage, our client asked us to open up the fireplace which was displaying signs of water ingress. Remedial works were carried out on the chimney to stop penetrating damp and the fireplace aperture created, which assisted with the drying process. The original brick arch was beyond economical repair so it was replaced with a discreet elm beam. Lime plaster works, a slate hearth and a new log burner finished the transformation.

The Woodlouse Team did a fantastic job and I can’t praise them enough for their efforts
