The owners of this traditional farm worker’s cottage commissioned Woodlouse Conservation to replace the outdated brick-built fireplace and replace it with one more in-keeping with the property. Under the brickwork we found the original slate hearth which, together with a reclaimed oak beam, was used to create the finished result.
